This Privacy Policy explains how ByteFold ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the ByteFold iPhone app and its related services. ByteFold lets you select media or files, prepare a separate output copy, and share or receive that copy through nearby transfer or a Secure Link. The output may be compressed or original quality, depending on your selection.

1. Information we handle

Selected content. When you choose photos or videos through Apple's photo picker, or files through the document picker, ByteFold can access the items you select. We process them on your device to display previews and prepare the output copy. Selection alone does not upload the content to our server. ByteFold does not overwrite the original item in Photos. If you choose original quality, the output copy may contain the same media content as the original.

Nearby transfer. To discover and connect to nearby ByteFold devices, the app uses the local network and Apple's Multipeer Connectivity. Participating devices exchange connection information and the selected output copy, including its name and size. This feature does not upload the file to our sharing server.

Secure Links. When you create a Secure Link, we process the selected output copy, file name, type and size, link expiry setting, and any password you set. The copy is uploaded through our sharing service for storage and delivery using Bunny.net. A person with the link may be able to view or download the shared file until access ends; password protection requires the recipient to enter the password. When someone checks or downloads a link, our service processes the share code, request details, and information needed to deliver the file. Recipients may keep copies after a link expires.

Apple sign-in. If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide a user identifier and, depending on your choices, a name and email address. The email may be an Apple private relay address. We exchange the Apple credential with our service to establish a ByteFold account and enable account-based features. The app stores account credentials locally in the iOS Keychain.

Device, service, and purchase information. Our service receives a device identifier, app version, bundle identifier, and request information where needed for account, membership, purchase verification, configuration, and sharing features. Apple handles App Store payments and provides product, transaction, or receipt information needed to verify a ByteFold Pro subscription. We do not receive your full payment-card number.

App events. The app includes the Meta/Facebook SDK for app-event measurement and advertising attribution. Depending on your settings and permissions, Meta may receive app activity, device information, and permitted identifiers. Our service may also process request and error information needed to operate and protect the features you use.

2. How we use information

We use this information to provide local compression, nearby transfer, Secure Links and downloads; maintain your account and subscription access; respond to your requests; detect misuse or service failures; and measure app usage and campaign performance where permitted.

3. Permissions and choices

  • Photos: Apple's picker lets you select specific items without granting ByteFold access to your entire photo library. Saving an output copy to Photos requires the applicable Photos permission. If you deny it, saving to Photos will not work.
  • Files: Apple's document picker gives the app access to the files you select for the operation you start.
  • Local network: Nearby transfer needs local-network access. Denying it prevents nearby discovery and transfer, but does not prevent local compression.
  • App Tracking Transparency (ATT): We may ask for permission to track activity across other companies' apps and websites for advertising measurement. If you decline, core compression and sharing remain available. Declining ATT limits tracking; it does not necessarily stop operational service requests or every non-tracking app event. You can change the choice in iOS Settings.

The current app does not request Contacts, Location, Microphone, Camera capture, or iCloud-container access, and does not register for push notifications.

4. Subscriptions and payments

ByteFold Pro is purchased through Apple's App Store. The current app presentation shows:

  • Weekly: US$4.99 per week. A three-day free trial is advertised, but applies only if Apple offers it to you at checkout.
  • Monthly: US$12.99 per month. No free trial is advertised.

The actual price, currency, taxes, and offer shown by Apple at checkout control.

Subscriptions renew automatically under Apple's terms. Manage or cancel them in your Apple Account subscription settings. Apple advises cancelling a free or discounted trial at least 24 hours before it ends if you do not want it to renew. Restoring a purchase may involve Apple authentication and verification of transaction information by our service. See Apple's cancellation instructions and Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Storage and deletion

ByteFold stores output copies, received files, thumbnails, transfer history, settings, and onboarding media on your device as needed. Account credentials and a device identifier may be kept in the iOS Keychain. You can remove transfer history where the app provides that control; removing a history record does not remove the original from Photos. Uninstalling ByteFold may remove app-managed files, but does not remove copies you saved elsewhere or copies held by recipients, and may not erase all Keychain items.

Our service uses https://api.flsspeed.com/sendlite for account, subscription, configuration, and Secure Link requests. Secure Link files are stored and delivered through our service and Bunny.net. Link access can be set to expire after 1, 7, or 30 days. Expiry ends ordinary link access; it does not necessarily remove every stored copy or operational record immediately. Information may also be retained when needed for security, disputes, or legal obligations.

The Account screen lets you sign out, which removes the local sign-in credential, or request deletion of your ByteFold account from our service. Signing out and deleting an account do not automatically cancel an Apple subscription or delete copies already downloaded by others. For questions about deletion of account data or shared files, email us at aurivix2012@outlook.com.

6. Third-party services and international processing

  • Apple provides the photo and document pickers, nearby connection framework, Sign in with Apple, StoreKit/App Store, and ATT. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Meta/Facebook provides app-event and attribution services. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
  • Bunny.net provides storage and delivery for files uploaded through Secure Links. See Bunny.net's Privacy & Data Policy.
  • Our API service at api.flsspeed.com/sendlite processes the account, membership, configuration, and sharing requests described above.

These services may process data in countries other than the one where you live. We do not sell the original photos, videos, or files you select.

7. Security

We use HTTPS for service requests, the iOS Keychain for selected credentials and identifiers, and encrypted Multipeer Connectivity sessions for nearby transfer. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Children's privacy

ByteFold is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided information improperly, contact us at the address below.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain uses of your personal information. You can change system permissions in iOS Settings, manage subscriptions through Apple, remove available local history, and request account deletion in the app. To make another privacy request, email us. We may need to verify the request and may retain information where required by law.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when our features or data practices change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice where required.
